accreditation headline

Annually, the Colorado Department of Education reviews the achievement and growth of all students in public schools in Colorado. School districts then receive ratings from the state dependent on targets set for acceptable student achievement and growth as demonstrated on standardized test scores (CSAP). Schools also receive marks based on the specific growth and achievement of subgroups of populations, including race, economically disadvantaged, and students who are at risk for falling behind. In addition, points are awarded for graduation rates, drop-out rates, and ACT scores.

Based on these most recent accountability measures, the Buena Vista School District was rated, or accredited as a District of Performance. Only a handful of districts across the state rated higher by being accredited with distinction. It is the vision of the Buena Vista School District to be rated as a District of Distinction by Spring 2012.
