Survey Results: Community Input, Guiding District Priorities

Nearly 500 community members shared their input to help guide district planning and priorities.

  • Favorable Response with Strong Taxpayer Confidence

Survey respondents shared a high level of confidence in the district’s fiscal accountability. Respondents also had a similar level of support for both the bond and mill proposals.

  • Strong Support for Investing in Staff
Survey respondents expressed clear support for efforts to retain and attract high-quality teachers and staff through cost-of-living adjustments and competitive compensation.

  • Acknowledging Concerns About Debt Extension
Although the proposed bond does not increase the current tax rate, some community members raised concerns about the cost of extending existing debt. In response, the district plans to shorten the bond repayment term, resulting in an estimated savings of at least $500,000.

  • Prioritizing High-Impact Facility Needs
While there was some interest in projects like outdoor learning spaces and broader upgrades, these items received lower prioritization in survey feedback. As a result, they will not be included in the upcoming capital improvement plan.

  • Focused Support for Core Facility Improvements
The community placed high value on maintaining and preserving existing buildings, along with improvements to safety, security, and accessibility. These priorities will guide the district’s facility planning moving forward and be the focus of the bond projects.
