7th and 8th grade Spanish students in Mrs. Hankins' classes collaborated this week to host a school event celebrating Día de los Muertos, the Mexican holiday honoring deceased family members. Being collaborative involves facilitating cooperative processes to make decisions, negotiate conflicts, and achieve quality work/outcomes. That skill came into play recently in Mr. Perrin’s Civics class as students learned about how government works at the state vs. federal level. They studied how representatives of each state seek individuals’ recommendations and then meet together as a group to decide what works best for the entire US. The students had to create a party as a small group (state level), and then one representative from each state met to debate for their ideas on the federal level. #BV7Cs #collaborative #bvproud #buenavistahighschool #bvschoolsthepeak
